NAWABSHAH: The Voters-Day will be observed on December 7, 2018 throughout the country by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to highlight the importance of vote and create awareness among people to cast their vote.

District Election Commissioner and Chairman District Voters Education Committee, Zahid Hussain Bhutto, while presiding the meeting has said that different programs would be organized to impart awareness in educational institutes and for registration of voters specialty votes of women.

He said that under the Election Act 2017 Section 27, the entry of vote and its transfer would be carried out according to permanent or temporary address printed on National Identity Card.

He said the government employees and their families can enter their vote at the address of job apart from permanent or temporary addresses.

District Election Commissioner advised persons whose votes are referred at permanent or temporary and some other address, get their votes entered at the address mentioned on CNIC by December 31, 2018.

He said that votes entered other than the addresses mentioned on CNIC would turn ineffective after December 31, 2018.

He appealed committee members to cooperate with Election Commission of Pakistan in creating awareness among people to get their votes entered by December 31, 2018 at permanent or temporary address mentioned on CNIC.

The meeting was also attended by committee members Deputy Director Social Welfare Muslim Farooq, Master Trainer PITE Farhana Naz, Muhammad Saleem Bhatti, Awais Qureshi, Asif Raza Ashique and other members. They also submitted their proposal on celebrating National Voters Day and entry of votes on permanent or temporary address.
