MULTAN: PTI central vice chairman Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Tuesday that politics in Punjab would witness a shift and no one would be able to block change come July 25 polling day of general elections 2018.

People would witness original colour of this change when PTI chief Imran Khan would address a public meeting in Multan on July 20, said Qureshi, a candidate from NA-156 while addressing a public meeting at Sameejabad organized by veteran politician Malik Ashiq Ali Shajra.

He said that a large component of Pakistan population comprised of youth and flawed policies of PPP and PML-N governments shrank the earning opportunities for them.

Qureshi said that 115 textile mills were closed, which, if operational, can provide jobs to a large number of skilled and educated youth. He added that power loom industry in NA-156 that used to thrive was now under immense stress and blamed the previous rulers for this.

He said that a decade long rule of PML-N in Punjab hurt the economy and failed to resolve sewerage, health and cleanliness issues. He said the previous government spent billions on their publicity but added that paper flowers can not give fragrance.

He added that Pakistan was still in economic troubles and still in the clutches of World Bank and IMF. He said that PPP was unable to field candidates in 104 constituencies out of total 141 constituencies in Punjab.

He said the previous government burdened the country with huge external debt and every new born child carries the burden of Rs 130,000 each. Today, Pakistan need to create thousands of new job opportunities and develop industry.

He said that PTI chief Imran Khan would tell the people in July 20 public meeting that why PTI was advocating and striving for a new Pakistan.

Qureshi said the PTI was striving to save the country against all odds and deserves support of the people. He said that July 20 public meeting in Multan would prove that PTI was ready to dominate.

The PTI leader and candidate from NA-155 Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar, PP-215 candidate Haji Javed Ansari, PTI district president Ijaz Hussain Janjua, and Malik Ashiq Ali Shajra also spoke.
