*European stocks opened higher with the regional STOXX 600 index up 0.4% by 1100 GMT. Britain's FTSE 100 was up 0.2%, Germany's DAX 0.6%, Italy's FTSE MIB rose 0.3%, and France's CAC 40 rose 0.5%.

Overall, analysts expect earnings at STOXX 600 firms to have fallen 19.9% in the fourth quarter, steeper than the 18.2% estimate issued last week, according to Refinitiv data. Still, earnings are expected to rebound nearly 43% in the first quarter.
Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 30.53 points, or 0.1%, to 30,990.53, the S&P 500 lost 1.52 points.
Europe's broad FTSEurofirst 300 index added 0.79%, at 1,575.88. The pan-European STOXX 600 was up 0.8% after Swiss wealth manager UBS posted a surge in quarterly net profit.
