Apple announced that its Apple Music will be receiving two major updates in the coming June: support for high-quality, lossless audio and new Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos feature.
This new feature will be available for free to all subscribers.
"As a North-Carolina native, I'm thrilled Apple is expanding and creating new long-term job opportunities in the community I grew up in," Jeff Williams, Apple's chief operating officer, said in a statement.
"We're proud that this new investment will also be supporting education and critical infrastructure projects across the state."
Its decision to pull out will leave its 10pc share in North America, where it is the No. 3 brand, to be gobbled up by smartphone titans Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics.
The stronger dollar and rising yields, along with expectations of a strong economic recovery, sapped demand for safe-haven bullion and pushed gold prices lower.
The UK Competition and Markets Authority said earlier this month it had opened an investigation into Apple after complaints that the iPhone maker's terms and conditions for app developers were unfair.
Payment policies related to Apple's App Store have long drawn complaints from app developers as they requires them to use its payment system, which charges commission of between 15% and 30%.
