imageISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah Friday said people could not be deceived with hollow slogans of revolution and freedom as barring Red Zone the whole country is peaceful.

Addressing the Joint Sitting of the Parliament, he urged the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to avoid provocative speeches.

Parliament was the right forum to take vital decisions and decisions

could not be imposed through sit-ins and protest marches.

He urged Imran Khan to adopt set democratic procedure for becoming the Prime Minister by taking votes. Imran should avoid harming the system.

He urged Imran Khan to return to National Assembly and join hands and work for the country's betterment.

The economy was suffering badly due to protests. We should forge unity in our ranks for strengthening democracy in the country, he said adding that such unity is fatal than atomic bombs.

He lauded the government's decision for not taking any action against the participants of sit-ins. The life of every person is precious and we must make endeavours to save lives.

Criticising Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, he said the provincial government should concentrate on providing basic amenities to the Internally Displaced Persons of North Waziristan Agency.

He supported establishing local body system in Sindh.
