weather 400ISLAMABAD: Director General Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Arif Mahmood on Monday said the month of June will remain very hot and dry and there is no chance of rain in the next few days.

"Only there are chances of light rain with gusty winds at Southern Punjab and upper areas of the country", he said while talking to APP.

The maximum temperature of Islamabad and Rawalpindi exceeded upto 43 degree celsius and it will increase further during the next days, he said.

According to the synoptic situation, seasonal low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending Eastwards.

Mainly very hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the Punjab, Islamabad, Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the next 24 hours.

However dust raising winds/ gusty winds are likely to blow over Southern Punjab and Southeastern parts of Balochistan during the next 24 hours.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts during next 24 hrs.

Yesterday's highest maximum temperature recorded in Sibbi 49 C. The maximum temperatures of the main cities were Islamabad 41 C, Lahore 46 C, Quetta 35 C, Karachi 34 C, Peshawar 43 C, Muzaffarabad 40 C, Gilgit 34 C, Murree 29 C, Multan 44 C and Faisalabad 46 C.
