MULTAN: A division bench of the Lahore High Court Multan bench ordered National Accountability Bureau NAB) to get former VC Bahauddin Zakariya University, Dr Khawaja Alqama checked by an expert doctor and to let his close relative meet him on Tuesday.
The DB comprising Mr Justice Maqbool Ahmad Bajwa and Mr Justice Gulzar Ahmed Awan issued orders after Ayesha Alqama, wife of former VC BZU moved the court for her husband treatment and permission to meet him.
The petitioner through her counsel Jamshaid Hayat pleaded before the bench that her husband was suffering from diabetes, blood pressure, ulcer and skin problems.
She requested the court to direct the NAB authorities for his complete medical check up, meeting with family members and allow Dr Alqama home made food.
The bench after hearing the arguments issued the orders. The NAB apprehended former VC BZU last month for establishing illegal campus in Lahore by misusing his powers in his tenure.
