LAHORE: Agriculture, livestock and dairy sectors can play a crucial role in the economic turnaround of the country and Punjab government is fully exploiting their potential to get rid of the economic ills.
While addressing a business moot here Monday, Member National Assembly (MNA) and Chairman Committee for Horse and Cattle Show 2015 Pervez Malik said that Horse and Cattle show would not only highlight the potential of livestock and dairy sector in Punjab but would also open new avenues for investment.
"Our future is linked with livestock sector and we have to march forward speedily for improvement of this sector", he added.
Malik said that previous governments ignored agriculture, livestock and dairy sectors of Punjab but Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif is taking all possible measures to fully exploit the untapped potential of these important sectors.
He said that vast opportunities of development of livestock sector exist in Punjab and the use of modern technology can help in the economic uplift of livestock farmers as well as strengthening of national economy.He added that private sector is being encouraged for development of this sector.
Pervez Malik informed the participants that Punjab government has taken unprecedented steps for the development of Cholistan and five modern livestock farms have been established.
He hoped that Horse and Cattle Show would successfully highlight the potential of Punjab's livestock and dairy sectors.
