LAHORE: Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways (PR) Khawaja Saad Rafique on Monday underlined the need for peace to promote trade and strengthening the national economy.
He was talking to media after inaugurating a private bank's new branch at Cavalry ground here. The minister said that banking sector's development could play an important role for the mainstream of economy.
Saad Rafique said the country was facing different challenges due to wrong policies adopted in past, adding that previous governments had not adopted the policy of dialogue.
To a question he said that peace would soon prevail in the country but conceded that peace talk with Taliban was not an easy job.
"The government has chosen peace talk process to ensure peace and tranquillity in the country under the able leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif", he added.
The minister further said that we have to move forward with "patience and determination" for the good of the country in all walks of life. He said that such policies were imperative that could prevent bloodshed in the country.
To a question, federal minister said, "We want to work with new government that come into power in Afghanistan".
