sharmila-farooqiHYDERABAD: Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister Sharmila Farooqui has said that vibrant judiciary, independent election commission and media could ensure free and fair election in the country.

She stated this while talking to the mediapersons here at Qadam Gah Moula Ali on Thursday.

After taking over the charge as Advisor to Chief Minister for Auqaf Sindh,it was her first visit to Hyderabad and Qadam Gah Moula Ali.

Responding to a question, she said that PPP is fully committed to have free and fair elections as such independent and impartial election commission has been made available before the election and today no one will point the finger towards Election Commission of Pakistan for its impartiality.

Responding to another question about the delimitation at Karachi, she said we have also reservations over the delimitations made in the regime of General Pervez Musharraf, adding that the government wanted revised delimitations in the entire Sindh instead of particular city or place.

However, she maintained that if the delimitation in particular city or place is necessary or unavoidable then all stakeholders must be taken on board in this regard.

To a question about anti PPP alliance in Sindh and its affects, Sharmila Farooqui said that since last four decades opponents were making anti PPP alliances but people of Sindh always rejected such alliances. Similarly, recent anti PPP alliance would also be rejected by people of Sindh, she added.

To another question about slow pace of development works at Dargahs of Sindh, she said that all the officers and concerned authorities have been directed to expedite the work and facilitate the devotees accordingly.

Responding about complaint of theft of piece of gold from the tomb, she ordered inquiry into the matter and directed the Secretary Auqaf to submit the report within a month.

Later, she laid floral wreaths at the mazar of Sakhi Abdul Wahab Shah Jillani and Qadam Gah Moula Ali.
