ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has established 108 relief camps in flood hit areas of the country aiming to provide essential facilities to the marooned people.
According to an official of NDMA, as many as 159,023 marooned people are residing in the camps. NDMA is providing food, blankets and other necessary facilities to the people.
A total of 14,159 villages have been affected by recent floods, while 9,854 cattle heads have been perished due to flash flooding.
480 people have been died and 2902 injured due to floods. And 465,526 houses have been damaged including 246,813 partially and 218,713 completely.
