power-transmissionISLAMABAD: The power crisis in the country is gradually easing as on Wednesday the shortfall has dropped to 4,240 MW from 5,723 MW during the last 24 hours.

According to report on daily power generation and load-management position, the total power generation was recorded as 12,221 against the demand of 16,461 MW during the said period.

The hydel generation stood at 4,548 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,578 MW and IPPs 6,095 MW.

As many as 680 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company(KESC), the report further said.

KAPCO Unit (202 MW) and Foundation Complex (175 MW) are under forced outage due to technical problem.
