KARACHI: Brisk shipping has been observed at the  Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where seven ships carrying containers, wheat, chemical, iron ore, furnace oil and edible oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, FAP Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, IOCB Terminal, FOTCO Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Wednesday, 13th June, 2012.

Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and chemical also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 85 percent at the Port on Thursday where total number of nine ships namely CGM Puccini, Leo Pard-B, Harsanadi, P.Wisdom II, Liberty Sun, Gennaro Ievoli, Dpbrush, Pioneer and MT Fuji Galaxy are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals, wheat, urea, iron ore, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 92525 tonnes comprises 87842 tonnes imports and 4683 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 835 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
