ISLAMABAD: Visiting British Foreign Secretary William Hague Tuesday said "we are partners with democratic Pakistan in the war on terrorism."
Addressing joint press conference with Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar after talks, Hague acknowledged Pakistan's sacrifices of man and material in the war against terrorism. "I hope we would succeed in this war."
He said Britain and Pakistan enjoy mutual trust‚ respect, have same interests and value their relationship. British Foreign Secretary said the next general elections are "very important" for Pakistan which would move it towards a stable and stronger democratic country.
Hina Khar said both countries have stronger relationship. "We are working five different sectors including strategic dialogue and trade. UK is different from other countries which acknowledged our sacrifices in the war on terrorism."
She said in talks they had discussions on regional situation including Afghanistan. She said Pakistan has to play its pivotal role in the peace process in Afghanistan.
