PESHAWAR: Minister Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Tuesday that trust among Pakistan, Afghanistan and USA have been established for the restoration of peace and elimination of terrorism from the region.

"Our top priority is peaceful settlement of the problem through negotiations. In case of failure, action will be taken against the terrorists in all areas, including North Waziristan", he said while talking to a delegation from his PK-12 constituency here.

Pakthun are peace loving. They hate terrorism and extremism but it is a matter of concern that for last few decades the region has become a battle-field, he added.

This battle has claimed the thousands of lives and "we can no more afford further bloodshed on our soil", he observed.

About NATO supply, the KP Information Minister said it was started by the previous government, continued unabated in their five-year term and now they were opposing its reopening. "We have halted the Nato supply and if restored it will be conditionally".

He urged people to start preparations for the local bodies elections which would be held on party basis. After the local bodies elections, the posts of Deputy Commissioner and magistracy system will stand restored, he added.

On this occasion he gave a cheque to the head of delegation for the renovation of mosques in PK-12 constituency. He also urged them to ensure judicious utilization of the funds.

DCO Nowshera Ayaz Mandokhel, President ANP Nowshera Chapter Ahrar Khattak and Zar Ali Khan were present on the occasion.
