Starting work on mega development projects is the best possible step aimed at generating massive job opportunities for the teeming unemployed skilled and non-skilled people across the country. Prime minister Imran Khan, in my view, has taken the right decision of directing the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) to immediately start construction activities of the Diamer-Bhasha and Dasu dams. He has also directed that use of local material and expertise has to be accorded priority during the construction work, which will provide massive job opportunities to people.
You can't starve people to death through protracted lockdowns lasting months. People need jobs to feed their families.
