It is important to note that prime minister Imran Khan has underscored the need for treating coronavirus patients with compassion, respect and dignity. He had to make these remarks because there were reports of alleged mistreatment of coronavirus patients by health personnel.
It is, however, heartening to note that health workers dealing with coronavirus cases in Pakistan are not facing discrimination or attacks. In countries such as Mexico and India, there have been cases of attacks on health workers by people terrified by the highly infectious virus.
