(Karachi) In wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Sindh government has instructed the private schools to reduce fees of April and May by 20 percent, media has reported. A notification has been issued by the provincial government.

According to the notification, the step is being taken to provide relief to parents affected by the lockdown in the current pandemic. The government has also set up a complaint cell for parents in case the private schools do not comply with the directive.

Meanwhile, doctors and hospital owners have asked Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to extend lockdown in the province amid coronavirus outbreak.

The demand came during a meeting between the Sindh CM and doctors from private hospitals at Chief Minister House on Tuesday.

Murad told the doctors' delegation that he would hold consultations with the provincial cabinet members and other stakeholders on the matter and decide accordingly.

Meanwhile, the CM also formed a committee of doctors, headed by Health and Population Welfare Minister Dr Azra Pechuho, to devise a plan for tackling the coronavirus pandemic.

The committee includes Dr Asim Hussain of Ziauddin Hospital and Dr Saadia Virk of South City Hospital among others.

The CEOs and owners of the private hospitals assured Shah of their cooperation and provision of equipment, manpower, technical and expert support to the provincial government whenever needed.
