The Annual General Council Meeting of the APNS will be held on March 14, 2020 at Karachi. Sarmad Ali, Secretary General of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society announced the decisions of the Executive Committee meeting held at Islamabad chaired by its President, Hameed Haroon.

He stated that the Executive Committee decided to hold its Annual General Meeting on March 14, 2020 at APNS House, Karachi wherein the Annual Report of the Society along with Annual Accounts for the preceding year will be placed for approval. The General Council will elect members of the Executive Committee for the years 2020 & 2021, who will elect Office Bearers of the Society for the next year.

The Executive Committee also considered the report of its Committee on Midas dues and unanimously approved, in principle, the proposed agreement between Midas Group and APNS to clear the dues of member publications.

The Executive Committee also decided to launch an advertising campaign to highlight the impact of the Centralized Advertising Policy as well as the crisis faced by the print media due to non-payment of outstanding dues by the Federal and provincial governments.-PR
