Sialkot police have badly failed to control traffic in the city and other highly busy junctions. There is total traffic chaos in Sialkot due to which road accidents and traffic jams have become a daily routine.

The local traffic police despite controlling the traffic found busy on mobiles phones and in money making and had provided a free hand to the bus and wagon drivers. The wrong parking of private vehicles, rickshaws and wagons on road busy roads is creating hurdles in smooth flow of traffic on busiest roads in the city.

It is due to the lack of management by traffic police that roads remain blocked in the presence of police and the drivers of passenger wagons plying in city remained busy to pick and drop in middle of the roads. It had been observed that most of the policemen deputed for controlling and channeling the traffic seen busy in eating and smoking despite of discharging duties.

Especially, traffic at Pul Aik area, Kutchary Road, Abbot Road, Paris Road, Lorry- Adda and Kashmir Road remains stuck up for a long time during peak hours but there is no policeman to handle the situation.

There are many so-called "One Ways" exist in most busy roads of the city but it is very unfortunate that police itself is violating one-way traffic rules. Most of traffic signals are out of order while the timing of these signals is also not correct.
