The National Assembly has passed as many as 14 bills and introduced 27 bills in eleven sittings of its last session.

The 18th session of the National Assembly was summoned on January 1, 2020 and it was prorogued on 15th January, 2020. The session concluded after having 11 sittings and passed important legislative proposals including three legislative proposals on services chiefs' appointment and extension.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government could not make any major legislation in previous sessions of the National Assembly due to its aggressive attitude with the opposition and lack of interest. However, the PTI government has made heavy legislation in the 18th session of the National Assembly.

There also important legislation which are yet to passed including the National Accountability (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019, the Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance Commission Ordinance, 2019 and others.

The bills which were passed by the National Assembly in its 18th session are; (i) The Banks (Nationalization) (Amendment) Bill, 2020, (ii) The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority Bill, 2020, (iii) The Legal Aid and Justice Authority Bill, 2020, (iv) The Letters of Administration and Succession Certificates Bill, 2020, (v) The Enforcement of Women's Property Rights Bill, 2019, (vi) The Superior Courts (Court Dress and Mode of Address) Order (Repeal) Bill, 2020, (vii) The Zainab Alert, Response and Recovery Bill, 2020, (viii) The ICT Right of Persons with Disability Bill, 2020, (ix) The Pakistan Army (Amendment) Bill, 2020, (x) The Pakistan Air Force (Amendment) Bill, 2020, (xi) The Pakistan Navy (Amendment) Bill, 2020, (xii) The Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2019, (xiii) The Mutual Legal Assistance (Criminal Matters) Bill, 2019 and, (xiv) The University of Islamabad Bill, 2020.

A total of 27 bills were introduced in the 18th session of National Assembly of which 6 bills were introduced by the PTI government and 21 bills were introduced by the members on private's member day.

The PTI government introduced 'The Protection of Communal Properties of Minorities (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The SBP Banking Services Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Pakistan Army (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Pakistan Air Force (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Pakistan Navy (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and Pakistan Academy of Letters (Amendment) Bill, 2019.'

As many as 21 bills were introduced by the members of the House on private's members day are; The Transfer of Evacuee Land (Katchi Abadi) (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2020.

The Marine Insurance (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The National University of Technology (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Right to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (Article 31), The Minorities Education Seats Bill, 2020, The Institute of Art and Culture (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (Article 251), The Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (Section 510), The Women in Distress and Detention Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2020, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (Article 140A), The Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (Section 292), The Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (Section 206 & 208), The Minorities Access to Higher Education Bill, 2020, The Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (Section 427 to 429, 435 to 440, 447 to 458, 461, 462 and Schedule II of Cr PC), The Juvenile Justice (Amendment) Bill, 2020, and The Islamic Development Bank (Amendment) Bill, 2020.

All these introduced bills were referred to the relevant committees for further consideration.
