Prime Minister Imran Khan has instructed officials concerned to take strict actions against those involved in substandard of essential commodities, said Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan.

Awan stated in a series of tweets on Wednesday that Prime Minister Khan chaired a meeting of chief secretaries of the four provinces and reviewed the prices of essential commodities.

During the meeting, she said that the prime minister said that adulteration in essential commodities is injustice with the people which has led to spread of serious diseases. She said that the prime minister also instructed the officials concerned to utilize the latest technology to stop adulteration and take stern actions against those involved in the heinous crime who are putting the lives of the people in danger.

"Prime Minister Imran Khan has put the country's economy in the right direction by taking difficult and bold decisions," she said, adding that the rewards of the decisions will reach the masses in the months and years to come.

She further maintained that the year 2020 will be the year of development, economic stability and public welfare for the people of the country. She prayed that the New Year may bring peace and stability for the people of Pakistan and entire world.
