Chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari through his counsel has written a letter to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) that he has no objection on appearing before it after January 15, 2020. Bilawal on December 23 announced that he will not appear before the NAB on December 24, saying the call-up notice served on him by the anti-corruption watchdog is unconstitutional and illegal.

The NAB through an official statement, while terming Bilawal's letter to NAB Rawalpindi against media reports, said that the PPP chairman has written a letter through his counsel that he has no objection on appearing before the NAB investigation team after January 15, 2020.

According to NAB, some reports quoted Bilawal as saying that he will not appear before NAB which is totally against his (Bilawal) assurance which he (Bilawal) made through his letter. It said that threatening and intimidating language used by a chairman of a political party cannot stop NAB from its legal process.
