Business Recorder seems to have dwelled on the Sharifs' misfortune with smugness. In an editorial "In-house change" carried by the newspaper yesterday, it has been argued that "Implicit in this scenario is the belief (or hope?) that Imran Khan's backers may be having second thoughts about their choice. So far, however, there is little sign of this wishful thinking [In-house change] coming true."

Imagining a likely or unlikely future event or situation as if it were possible is no crime. The recent NAB action in relation to Shahbaz Sharif's and his family's properties clearly shows that the government is still upset over Nawaz Sharif's departure from the country. But prime minister Imran Khan in particular is still deriving a kind of malignant pleasure from the Sharifs' ordeal.
