Illegal appointments case: SHC reserves judgement in bail pleas of Rauf, others

Sindh High Court (SHC) Wednesday reserved the judgment in the bail pleas of Rauf Siddiqui, former Sindh Minister and others in illegal appointments in Sindh Small Industries case.

A division bench of SHC will announce the decision on December 03, 2019 on the bail petition of eight accused including Rauf Siddiqui after reference was filed against them they made illegal appointments in Sindh Small Industries from 2008 to 2014.

NAB in its reference charged the accused for causing heavy losses to national exchequer. Meanwhile, while hearing the petition for removing the name of Ijaz Jakhrani, Advisor Prison from ECL, SHC bench ordered to club the petition for removal of name of Jakhrani from ECL with his bail petition.

Jakhrani has been charged by NAB for having "assets beyond means." Jakhrani filed two petitions - one related to removal of his name from ECL and other for securing the bail. Court fixed the hearing of bail plea for December 12, 2019.
