50,000 scholarships to be offered every year under new Ehsaas program: PM
- PM announced 50,000 scholarships will be provided every year.
- 50% scholarship are reserved for women.
Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Monday that he will launch the ‘Ehsaas’ Undergraduate Scholarship program which is the largest ever needs-based undergraduate scholarship program in Pakistan.
The premier took to his Twitter handle and wrote this will be the first needs-based undergraduate scholarship programme in the history of Pakistan. He further said that under the program 200,000 scholarships will be awarded over the next 4 years, that is 50,000 scholarships every year.
"50% of these for women to promote human capital development under my Ehsaas_Pk umbrella,"the prime minister added.

In her tweet, Special Assistant to PM on Social Protection & Poverty Alleviation Sania Nishtar said that Imran Khan's government is committed to promoting financial access to education and offers an equal opportunity to women.
The program encourages students with special needs as well as those who are from disadvantaged and remote areas to apply.
