Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Senator Sirajul Haq has criticized the government for creating troubles for the citizens by sealing the public routes two weeks ahead of the JUI-F long march.

Addressing the provincial executive committee (Majlise Shoora) of the JI, he demanded the Supreme Court to stop the government digging ditches and trenches around Islamabad and Rawalpindi and blocking public routes.

JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim and JI KP chapter head Senator Mushtaq Ahmad were also present on occasion. The JI chief, on occasion, refused to accept the resignation of Senator Mushtaq, which he rendered a couple of days ago due to personal engagements, directing him to continue his responsibilities as JI KP Emir.

Siraj said that government's restlessness two weeks ahead of the protest showed that it completely lost its senses and unable to tackle the situation. He said the government was expected to create facilities for the masses but it was creating problems for them instead.

The meeting discussed the local and international situation and expressed concern over the government performance on economic and political fronts. The meeting unanimously declared that holding peaceful rallies and protest was the right of every citizen and political parties. Hence, they advised the government not to use force to stop the marchers from holding anti-government rallies. The meeting expressed concerns over deteriorating situation of the economy, demanding the government take immediate measures to provide relief to common man.

Siraj said the government failed to initiate aggressive diplomacy in backdrop of Kashmir situation. He said the Kashmir issue failed to catch international attention due to weak foreign policy. He said people of Indian Held Kashmir were under siege for 80 days but the world was silent over Indian violations. The rulers on the other side sitting in Islamabad were relying on empty speeches, he added.
