The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted that Karachi will likely receive dust-thunderstorm with light rain on Thursday and Friday.

"A shallow westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to intensify on Wednesday,' a statement by the spokesperson of Pakistan Meteorological Department said. The statement further said that due to this wave, dust-thunderstorm and rain is expected at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Balochistan, Upper Sindh, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir from Wednesday to Saturday.

During this spell, day temperatures will likely remain 4-6°C below normal in different parts of the country, the statement concluded.

On Tuesday, hot weather gripped most parts of the country with a maximum temperature recorded in Sakrand as 43°C, Bhakkar°42  Turbat 42°C, Mithi 42°C and Shaheed Benazirabad 42°C.

However, the temperature in the port city will remain partly cloudy with maximum temperature hitting 36°C today.
