Police arrest 10 suspected criminals

KARACHI: Karachi police on Monday arrested 10 accused in raids in different localities of the city and recovered arms and other smuggled items from them.

During an action at Lyari Expressway motorway police arrested four suspects after a consignment of smuggled cloth and other items worth millions of rupees were recovered from their possession. The arrested suspects were handed over to Shershah police for further investigation.

Gadap city police arrested three street criminals, Ali Sher, Bilal and Irfan. They were stated to be involved in several street crimes. Weapons and mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

New Karachi Industrial Area police apprehended three members dacoit gang involved in robbing citizens in front of automated teller machines (ATMs) after they make a transaction or withdraw cash.

The arrested robbers were identified as Muhammad Shaan, Rehanuddin and Faizan alias Asad. Police also claimed to have recovered three TT-pistols, snatched mobile phones and cash from them. Further probe is under way.
