Former Railways Minister Saad Rafique lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday, saying that the premier had promised to make the past governments cry but now he was making the whole nation cry.

Speaking to the media outside an accountability court in Lahore, the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader said that the country was being run by incapable hands. He further said that the PM had promised that he would make politicians pay, but the whole Pakistan is paying, local media reported.

Saad and his brothers appeared before the accountability court today as their judicial remand ended. During the hearing, the judicial remand of the Rafique brothers was extended by the accountability court till April 18.

The siblings have been arrested in the Paragon Housing Society case. According to the NAB, the suspects, along with Nadeem Zia chief executive of Paragon City and others, had launched an illegal housing scheme Paragon City (Pvt) Ltd in 2005 on the basis of forged and fabricated documents.

NAB shared that Saad’s wife was partner with Qaiser Ameen Butt, the former Director of Paragon City. NAB contended that both the brothers had received money from the housing society. NAB also asserted that both Saad and Salman had admitted that they took millions of rupees as commission.
