It has hardly been a month since Samsung launched its Galaxy S10 series and according to new reports, the phone has already encountered a bug that dramatically drains the phone’s battery.

Samsung Galaxy S10 owners have started to complain about the recent bug in the phone’s software that causes their batteries to drain at an accelerated rate, pointed out SamMobile.

The users have claimed that their phone’s display is turning on while the phone being in their pockets because of the ‘Tap to Wake’ feature. Since the phone’s screen is constantly being turned on and off even when one is not using the phone and it’s in the pocket, the battery constantly depletes itself earlier than it should.

The issue, which for now seems only limited to be in the US, has also seem to trigger the camera, which uses up even more battery as a number of sensors are then activated as the phone believes it’s operating in low-light conditions.

“First thing I did was activate tap to wake, I have never seen this in a Samsung phone before. Now I have the newest that Samsung has to offer and it does not work properly,” explains another on Samsung’s US Community Forum. “My leg through my fabric taps the phone and opens it up.”

Another frustrated users complained, “My leg through my fabric taps the phone and opens it up. This is draining my battery, and your accidental touch protection feature is useless. That’s two features down right there. $900 for what? Flagship that doesn’t work properly?”

Though Samsung has not yet commented on the issue, what users have suggested to do from their own side is to turn on the ‘Accidental Touch Protection’, or to switch off ‘Touch Sensitivity’, or even turning of ‘Always-On Display’ feature.
