At least 18 people were injured on Thursday when a grenade exploded at a bus stop in Indian occupied Kashmir's (IoK) Jammu city.

The grenade was thrown which rolled under a bus at the stand and exploded. Those injured in the blast have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Immediately, Indian troops and police personnel cordoned off the area. This is the third blast around the Jammu bus stand in the past 10 months, Indian media reported.

The blast comes amid soaring tensions between Pakistan and India after the Pulwama attack which occurred two weeks ago. Following the attack, on February 26, Indian Air Force (IAF) jets violated the Line of Control but returned after Pakistan Air Force (PAF) foiled their attempt.

On February 27, PAF shot down two of IAF jets and also arrested one of the Indian pilots. The pilot was later released as a peace gesture by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
