Country to receive more rain from Sunday: Met office
The country is expected to receive another spell of rain and snowfall from Sunday evening which will likely persist till Friday, as a strong rain bearing system is likely to enter Pakistan
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) spokesperson, widespread rain-thunderstorm with few moderate to scattered heavy rainfall is likely to occur at scattered places in Sindh on Tuesday evening to Thursday next week. However, the temperature during the weekend in Karachi will range between 15°C and 17°C.
The rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in northeastern Balochistan that is Quetta, Zhob and Kalat divisions, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad divisions In Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir it will rain on Sunday and Monday.
The press release by the Met office has also warned that heavy falls in Malakand, Hazara, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir may trigger landslides. Whereas in local riverine of Balochistan and hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, the heavy falls may cause flash flooding on Wednesday and Thursday.
