NAB gets nine-day physical remand of PTI senior leader Aleem Khan
An accountability court granted on Thursday the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) a nine-day physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and former minister Abdul Aleem Khan.
The PTI leader was presented before the court by NAB team amid strict security. The bureau had sought remand of Khan for investigation into the case of him owning assets beyond known sources of income. The court accepted the bureau's request and granted it a nine-day physical remand. The PTI leader's remand will expire on February 15.
NAB arrested the PTI leader outside Lahore's accountability court on Wednesday. He had appeared before the court to be investigated by the bureau. When he failed to satisfy the court regarding the money trail of his assets, he was then arrested by the bureau.
NAB has alleged that the PTI leader has established multiple companies in UAE and Britain. The bureau said that it was further probing into these companies. Following his arrest by NAB, Khan had tendered his resignation.
