University of Karachi is providing maximum facilities to students and researchers, said the vice chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi. He expressed these views, speaking at the concluding session of the third summer school workshop entitled "Green Spin in Biotechnology." Dr A. Q. Khan Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, KU, organised the 4-day workshop at its Jinnah Auditorium.
"Although Karachi University has limited financial resources, its administration is determined and trying its best to fulfil requirements of students, scholars, teaching and non-teaching staff," said the KU VC.
He further said that the university had been imparting on-hand trainings and conducting workshop sessions for young scholars so that they could get necessary knowledge about the modern tools, techniques and methodologies being used in research. He urged students to implement what they learnt during the workshop in their practical life.
Dr Khalid Iraqi said he was hopeful that young scholars who had participated in the workshop would get utmost benefits from what they had learnt at KIBGE in their future.
Duration is not important, he said, responding to a suggestion by a trainee that workshop duration should be extended as four days were not enough for such informative workshop. How many new avenues are available after attending workshops is significant rather than how long training duration should be, he said, adding that number of days is not important but how the workshop is organised and what you learnt, it does matter. He emphasised them to open their eyes, give themselves new vision and stay committed to their work because this is the main purpose of holding workshops.
