As dismantling process of existing old Burma Bridge at Lehtrar Road is in progress, Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman has issued instructions that proper stocktaking of debris may be taken so that valuable material could be auctioned at later stage.
In this context, the member engineering and director general works have been directed to carry out the needed survey of the debris and proper list of dismantled material of the bridge may be prepared. It has been further directed that debris including steel works should not be left unattended and arrangements be also made for preserving the valuable materials. It has been instructed that after categorising useful material and rubble of the bridge, proper stock register be maintained so that the valuable material could be preserved and then be auctioned while rubble could be removed from the site and construction of the bridge could be started at the earliest.
Instructions have been further issued that as monsoon rains have been started, therefore, while carrying out dismantling of the bridge, it must be ensured that rubble may not affect the water flow in the nullah. The member engineering and director general works have also been directed to speed up the dismantling work and complete it at the earliest so that construction of long awaited Burma Bridge could be started.
