Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday admitted the plea against allegedly "out of turn" promotions of employees in Sindh High Court (SHC). Petitioner Arbab Imtiaz, former employee of SHC filed an appeal in SC against the verdict of SHC, which dismissed the petition in 2016 against alleged "out of turn" promotions in high court. At Karachi Registry, SC bench admitted the appeal against SHC verdict, in which petitioner submitted that promotions were given in high court by relaxing the relevant rules.
Petitioner told the court that he had moved the court against this irregularity, which dismissed his plea 2016. "I then filed the appeal in SC, which was referred to SHC," petitioner said and added that SHC again dismissed the petition in 2018. Petitioner said that he has not personal interests now in this petition as he retired from the service but for the sake of merit. Court approved the plea for hearing the appeal of high court's decision.
Meanwhile, SC bench sought the replies in a bail plea of accused of murder by issuing notices in this regard. Accused namely Mohammad Mansoor is accused of murdering his wife, whose bail plea was rejected by high court. Counsel for accused told the court that Sundas, wife of accused committed suicide. Court directed both parties to submit the replies in the bail plea.
