The National Highway Authority (NHA) Executive Board has approved the award of work for construction of two additional carriageway of Petaro-Sehwan (N-55) to the lowest evaluated bidder, M/s SGEC-AMC joint venture, at the evaluated/ corrected bid price of Rs 1.79 billion.
The Board meeting was chaired by Chairman NHA Jawwad Rafique Malik. According to NHA documents, the cost is 37% below the engineer's estimate of Rs 2.848 billion (based on CSR-2014) with the condition that the amount of performance security shall be increased to two times as per IB-28.4 of bidding data.
The Board further directed that rates of three items 405a, 405b and 406c (v) will not be paid by the NHA as the rates have not been quoted by the bidder. The matter shall be clearly mentioned in Letter of Acceptance (LoA) that the said items will be completed by the contractor and no claim against these items will be made later on.
