Major markets of the provincial metropolis remained closed on Saturday as traders observed it as a fourth holiday on account of Eid-ul-Fitr. A few shops were opened in the morning in the biggest commodity market of the province, Akbari Mandi, but closed down by noon because of absence of buyers. Lahore Sugar Dealers Association Chairman, Asghar Butt said that some of the shopkeepers lifted the shutters of their businesses in the morning but they had to follow suit of their fellows soon, who kept their shops closed, just because of absence of the labour and any buyers.
