Poland files complaint with EU court over copyright reform

Poland on Friday lodged a complaint with a top European Union court over a controversial copyright reform adopted last month, the deputy foreign minister said just days before European elections. Under the changes, European law now holds platforms legally responsible for enforcing copyright, requiring them to check everything that their users post to prevent infringement.
Two years in the making, the reform was backed by media companies and artists but opposed by internet giants and supporters of a free internet. Poland was one of six countries against the reform.
