Former Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair while criticising the economic policies of the government, said that the country would fall in deep economic turmoil if Prime Minister Imran Khan's government continues in the office for the next two three months. He was addressing the media persons at Karachi Press Club (KPC) here on Friday. Zubair said that former finance minister Asad Umar was removed from the office due his differences with Jahangir Tareen.
Rejecting the government's amnesty scheme and IMF deal, he said that bailout package for the country was negotiated between the representatives of IMF. "Government has changed the entire financial team on the dictations of IMF," Zubair stated. He said that new financial team of Imran Khan would serve the interests of IMF. Replying to a question regarding the protest campaign against the government, Zubair said that the decision would be made in a party meeting to be held on 20th May.
During the nine months tenure of the incumbent government, he said, 1.1 million people have been brought down below the poverty line while inflation rate has gone up all time high. He said that PML-N would devise future course of action with the consultation of opposition parties.
