The Karachi Port handled 100,315 tonnes of cargo comprising 57,678 tonnes of import cargo and 42,637 tonnes of export cargo including 3,067 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 57,678 tonnes comprised of 16,859 tonnes of containerised cargo; 122 tonnes of bulk cargo; 7,470 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 7,050 tonnes of rock phosphate and 78,452 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 42,637 tonnes comprised of 16,299 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,558 tonnes of bulk cargo; 5,380 tonnes of wheat and 11,630 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 3,067 containers comprising of 1,814 containers import and 1,253 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 404 of 20's and 518 of 40's loaded while 274 of 20's and 50 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 453 of 20's and 363 of 40's loaded containers while 02 of 20's and 36 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Kota Karim, MP The Belichick, Maria Bottiglieri and Snow Ploeg carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. MS Tiger, KMTC Dubai, Kota Karim and CMA CGM Lamartine carrying containers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 124,658 tonnes comprising 107,425 tonnes of import cargo and 17,233 tonnes of export cargo including 2,199 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 107,425 tonnes includes 7,650 tonnes of palm oil; 39,200 tonnes of LNG; 36,027 tonnes of coal and 24,548 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 17,233 tonnes includes 17,233 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,199 containers comprising of 1,292 containers import and 907 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were two ships namely Golar Maria and Equinox Dawn carrying LNG and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely MSC Maeva and Ionic Storm carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen vessels viz. ER Tokyo, Infinity, Pyxis Ocean, Hong Dai, Bosch Hoek, Yasa Ilhan, Golar Gem, Malhari, African Turaco, Constantinos, BW Panthar, SC Hai Kou, Shamrock Mercury and Andrey Pervozvanny respectively carrying containers, bitumen, soyabean, coal, chemical, cement, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. ER Tokyo, Maersk Pitisburgh, Infinity, African Turaco, Yasa Ilhan and Hong Dai carrying containers, bitumen, cement, coal and soyabean respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Grains and Furtilizer Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There was one ship namely Maersk Pitisburgh carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ship namely MOL Grandeur carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
