The Commerce Minister of Czech Republic will visit Pakistan soon and will meet businessmen to find ways for entrance into Pakistani market. This was stated by Commercial Counsellor of Czech Republic Embassy, Michal Bobek while talking to media here at the Honouray Consulate of the republic at Saifullah House. The Honourary Consul General of the Czech Republic, Barrister Assad Saifullah Khan was also present on the occasion. The presence of Czech, Commercial Counsellor in the provincial capital of KP was part of his meetings with different institutions and chambers of commerce to make a delegation of businessmen for meeting with Czech Commerce Minister to find proper business for Czech companies from Pakistan.
During the meeting, the Czech minister will discuss business opportunities and possibilities of starting business including joint ventures with Czech companies. However, the Commercial Counsellor said that all this would be done by their businessmen and they would be trying to make contact and bring in people of both countries together and introduce each other to help make the smooth trade as possible.
He said that during meetings with government officials and chamber of commerce, they had discussed many areas of interests and the most important included energy and electronic sectors and their expertise about mining, agriculture, health and medicines. Michal Bobek told that Czech Republic is fully based on private sector. So they as a government do not have possibility to come to public sector companies and they can only bring them in private business and arrange negations between the businessmen of both countries and agreement on joint venture is task is left of them.
He said that they will bring Czech investors to Pakistan and offer cooperation in potential sectors. To a question regarding status of Pakistan-Czech Republic bilateral trade, he said that is surplus and in favour of Pakistan. He said that Czech Republic annually imports Pakistani goods worth Rs 24 billion as compared to the former's exports volume of only Rs 7 billion to their country. Therefore, he said Czech Republic is more opened for Pakistani goods.
He said that Pakistani textile and leather products have big demands in Czech Republic. Furthermore, he said that Czech Republic can offer energy equipment, different kind of electronic system, connectors and produce mining machinery. On the occasion, the Honourary Consul General of the Czech Republic in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Assad Saifullah Khan said that as the previous and incumbent governments in KP are working on bringing health reforms therefore, it can take benefits of the expertise of the Czech Republic.
He said that Bata, a Czech company is highly popular amongst Pakistanis has completed 75 years of operation in Pakistan. He said that the Embassy of Czech Republic is planning to hold the exhibition of the Bata products in all big cities to let the people know about the company.
