One pilgrim died when a bus carrying 51 Pakistani pilgrims (zaireen) hit a security check post near Samarra, Iraq, on the night of April 21, 2019, Foreign Office said. According to Spokesperson Foreign Office Dr Mohammad Faisal, a Pakistani pilgrim namely Umar Hayat, son of Allah Yar, who got seriously injured in bus accident in Iraq passed away.
He said that Pakistan's Mission in Iraq is in contact with the local authorities and bereaved family to provide all possible help. "Our prayers are for the departed soul and condolences to family," he added. Earlier, the spokesperson said that a bus carrying 51 Pakistani pilgrims hit a security check post near Samarra, Iraq.
According to information provided by Pakistan's Mission in Baghdad, he said that the injured passengers were shifted to Medical City Hospital while passengers with minor injuries were treated and have been discharged. "As of now 47 passengers are in good health, whereas three passengers are admitted in the hospital due to serious injuries," he added.
