State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan on Tuesday said that Pakistan is a nuclear state and most of its nuclear arsenals have been acquired keeping a threat from India in mind which will be used to "wipe out India from the face of the earth."
Speaking in the Senate in the wake of Indian intrusion into the Line of Control (LoC), the minister issued a stealth warning to India: "In case of any more adventurism, Pakistan would not hesitate to throw the dead body of Indian Prime Minister Naredra Modi into the Arabian Sea."
Earlier, the opposition lawmakers expressed displeasure over not shooting down the Indian fighter jets which crossed into Pakistani territory, saying the speech by Prime Minister Imran Khan of retaliation proved "incorrect."
Senator Pervaiz Rashid of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said, "The "whole nation is in shock because we were told that if something like this happens from the Indian side, Pakistan will retaliate."
In the same breath, he continued, "But twelve hours have passed, we're still clueless what we should do. The whole nation including myself is waiting for the answer about the promise of retaliation made with the nation by the Prime Minister."
"As it has been decided not to ask any questions, I too, defer my questions and in the next session, I would ask you chairman to give me time to ask these questions as why you [PM] did not retaliate after the Indian jets crossed into our territory," he declared.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) was the first one who objected over letting the Indian jets go without shooting them down, saying, "If the military needs support, he is ready to give them 10,000 volunteers to deal with Indians."
However, later the lawmakers from both sides of the aisle said that they are united against any Indian aggression, and warned India to be ready to face the music as there will be no compromise on sovereignty of the country.
State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi said that Pakistan wants peace but any Indian adventurism would be retaliated with full might, besides exposing Indian war hysteria and atrocities against Kashmiris through proactive diplomatic initiative.
"Pakistan does not want to repeat the history of Hiroshima and Nagasaki," he added.
JUI-F Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri also criticised the top leadership for letting Indian intruders go, saying they should have been brought down. "Why they [Indian planes] were sent back alive...they should been shot down," he regretted.
He insisted that people at the helm of affairs should act, and convene a joint session of Parliament to chalk out a strategy against the enemy country, as it will send a strong message across the border. "I request the military that we should remain alert and shoot down the Indian warplanes...I don't want to hear the word: 'the Indian jets were forced back, they must not go back alive," he maintained.
Opposition Leader in Senate Raja Zafarul Haq said, "It is a sensitive issue as our traditional enemy has done a blunder by intruding which we cannot ignore." He also recalled that the Prime Minister had warned of retaliation, but still he did nothing despite Indian intrusion.
"We'd differences, but on this issue there will be no compromise," he maintained. "I request all the members to give a strong message to the enemy as we are indebted to this country," he added.
Former Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani said, "Pakistani nation, its Parliament, particularly Senate, should give a strong message to India that despite all differences, we are ready to give a tit-for-tat response to Indian aggression, as intrusion into our territory is violation of international law and it is not acceptable to us."
"It is nothing new that since Partition India has been refusing to accept Pakistan...and this is the reason all its defence and foreign policies are focused on Pakistan, but people of Pakistan showed their resilience, and we will show Indian who we are," he declared.
He said, "The incident which took place is condemned in the strongest possible terms as our sovereignty - whether air or ground - was violated, and we want to give a clear message that India and its cronies will get a befitting response."
He reiterated that Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) must withdraw the invitation to India, as it is an insult to Pakistan which is one of its founding members, adding India blatantly attacked Pakistan, and it has attacked the founding member country of OIC, and there is no logic to extend any invitation to India to address the OPIC conclave.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmed of Jamaat-e-Islami said that OIC should be told that India's participation in OIC conclave is in no way acceptable and it must withdraw the invitation. International media should be taken to Balakot to expose the Indian false claims of propaganda of attacking Pakistan, he added.
Senator Khushbakht Shujaat of MQM-P said, "It is a blessing in disguise as it united the nation and all parties as we all stand on one page. Whoever wants to intrude, our military must deal with them. We all are volunteers and we are ready to give a befitting response to the enemy."
Senator Noman Wazir said that India's 190 aircraft are serviceable, while Pakistan has over 450, and all are serviceable. He said that the claim of intrusion by India is nothing to be worried about as they are doing this to befool their own people.
Senator Faisal Javed said the government has decided to give a befitting response to India, adding, "We will take all parties into confidence and will take local and international media to the site to expose Indian false claim of hitting a militant camp."
Sirajul Haq of JI said that Modi is the name of "terrorism", who is killer of thousands of Muslims in Gujrat. He said that Modi is the man who was banned to travel to the US for massacre of thousands of Muslims in his home state.
"We're ready to accept the challenge of Modi, and today, we all have given a clear message to give India a befitting response," he added.
The OIC which is an organisation of Muslim countries, he added, has invited India, instead of siding with Pakistan despite the fact that Pakistan helped the Gulf countries whenever needed and still former army chief of Pakistan Army is heading Islamic Military Alliance in Saudi Arabia. "The OIC should be told openly that India must not come to OIC ever again," he added.
Senator Javed Abbasi of PML-N said, "Through a successful diplomacy, we should expose India. Before a joint session, the concerned authorities should give a briefing to the House...we want to know where our defence stands."
"If the OIC does not listen to us, we should raise the issue there as this is happening for the second time, which is insulting as Pakistan is one of the founding members of OIC," he added.
State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi said that all stakeholders should play their due role in exposing the nefarious designs of India, and the way it is killing innocent women and children in held Kashmir. "We gave a message of peace through peace, but please do not force us to make Hiroshima and Nagasaki," he warned. "We do not want you to become refugees in the streets of the world," he added.
Lt-Gen Abdul Qayum (retd) said that India does not want Pakistan to become stable from the day-one, adding India is not only against Pakistan, it has also remained involved in terror activities in Sri Lanka and Nepal. He said, "India was behind the war on terror which we have won and the enemy country will have no other option but to face humiliating defeat in case of any adventurism." "India did what it had to do and that too without hitting the target which it had selected. And now, it is our turn and we will respond at time and place of our choosing," he declared.
He said that ongoing peace process is also an issue, as India has made huge investment in Afghanistan, adding another reason behind doing all this is because it could not digest the CPEC and its expected defeat in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case.
