Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday held a meeting with Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood for consultations following the attack in occupied Kashmir's Pulwama district. The foreign minister and the envoy discussed the recent attack in the occupied valley and India's allegations about Pakistan's collusion in the incident.
They also discussed the overall situation in the region. During the meeting, the minister said, "Pakistan wants peace in the region. Insecurity and hostility are not in anybody's interest." "Islamabad is analysing the situation closely and Indian blame game will not serve anyone," he said.
The foreign minister also called on the UN to 'step in to defuse tensions' between Pakistan and India following the attack. Sohail Mahmood was recalled from New Delhi for consultations amid deterioration in ties between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. India called back its envoy a day after the Pulwama attack.
