Punjab government agrees on name of Hamza as PAC chairman

The Punjab government on Monday agreed on the name of Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz as the Chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC). In this connection, Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat said that a meeting of PAC will be summoned after the arrivals of Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi from Saudi Arabia, and Hamza Shahbaz from London. Moreover, the heads of other standing committees will also be finalized in their presence.
He went on to say that the PAC Chairman will be elected through voting and the provincial government will not oppose Hamza Shahbaz. He also denied reports of stopping notification for the PAC.
