An slight decrease in prices of important kitchen items, including vegetable, chicken meat, pulses, sugar and other was witnessed in retail market, said in a survey carried out by Business Recorder here on Sunday. The survey noticed that the downward trend in prices of chicken meat is continued in retail market as decrease of Rs kilogram witnessed, which available at Rs136 per kilogram against the price of Rs156 per kilogram in the previous week.
However, the prices of farm eggs were remained unchanged in retail market as available at Rs110-120 per dozen. Cow meat is being sold at Rs350-400 per kilogram in retail market. Mutton beef priced at Rs750-800 per kilogram.
According to the survey, the prices of pulses have become costlier in local market. Good quality rice (sela) is being sold at Rs150 per kilogram, while toota rice available at Rs70 and Rs80 per kilogram.
Big size white channa is available Rs140 and Rs150 per kilogram, while white bean available at Rs140 per kilogram in retail market. Moonge is being sold at Rs120 per kilogram. A considerable increase in price of dal mash is noticed in retail market, as available at Rs134 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs110 per kilogram in the previous week. Likewise, the price of dal channa has also increased at Rs130 per kilogram from Rs120 per kilogram.
Similarly, dal masoor is being sold at Rs90 per kilogram. White bean is available at Rs140 per kilogram. Dhoti dal is being available at Rs140 per kilogram. Dal chilka (green) is being sold at Rs100 per kg, while dal chilka (black) available at Rs120-130 per kilogram in retail market. Red bean (Tajikistan) is being sold at Rs140 and other available at Rs120 per kilogram.
Gram flour (baisen) is being sold at Rs110-120 per kilogram. Price of sugar is increased in retail market as available at Rs60 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs56 per kilogram in the previous week. Prices of different brand and quality of cooking oil/ghee were remained at high-side in the retail market, as available within range of Rs150-160 and Rs170-190 and Rs200 per kg/litre.
According to the survey, the prices veggies are remained sky-high in local market. Price of tomato has increased at Rs50 per kilogram which was selling at Rs35 per kilogram in the previous week. Onion is available at Rs40 per kilogram. It added that ginger is being sold at Rs200 per kilogram, Chinese garlic available at Rs120 per kilogram and locally produced garlic is being sold at Rs60 per kilogram in local market.
Likewise, the survey said that capsicum is being available at Rs80 per kilogram, bringle at Rs40 per kilogram, peas at Rs50-60 per kg, arvi at Rs50 per kilogram, cabbage at Rs40 per kilogram, cauliflower at Rs50 per kilogram. Green chili is being sold at Rs80 per kilogram, lemon at Rs60 per kilogram.
It added red potato is being sold at Rs70 per kilogram, while other at Rs30-40 per kilogram. It added that turnip is available at Rs40 per kilogram, bringle at Rs20 per kilogram in the retail market. Apple gourd, bottle gourd and ridge gourd prices range between Rs50-80 per kg in retail market. Fresh milk is being sold at Rs90-100 per litre against the official fixed rate of Rs80 per litre. Yogurt is available at Rs90-100 per kilogram.
According to the survey, the prices of fruits, which staple food are sky-high in the local market. Apple is being sold at Rs80-100 and Rs150 per kilogramme, pomegranate at Rs120-140 per kilogram, orange at Rs80-100 per dozen, kinnow at Rs50-60 per dozen, banana at Rs50-60 per dozen.
