Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid has stressed upon the need of awareness regarding HIV cure among different walks of life. She said this while leading an awareness walk under Health Department on the eve of World AIDS Day.
"A Patient suffering from AIDS was not untouchable, we have to work for ending this negative trend from our society", reiterated the minister while talking to the media. The walk started from office of DG Health Services and concluded near Punjab Assembly.
Director General Health Services, Deputy Secretary Dr Yad Ullah, Project Director Punjab AIDS Control Programme Dr. Asim Altaf and a number of masses participated. "Let me clear that AIDS was curable problem and Punjab Government was providing all treatment free of cost", she said.
The minister further said that only sexual relationships was not the sole reason of HIV transmission but it could be developed either by unsafe blood transfusion and could also be inherited. "Patients suffering from HIV were not alone. On the eve of this day we should show our solidarity with AIDS patients", pledged Dr Yasmin Rashid.
Replying to various questions regarding 100 days performance of PTI Government, the Minister Health said "We did not believe in mere slogans but in practical. Prime Minister Imran Khan elaborated 100 days performance in his comprehensive speech the other day. Opposition could criticize government but should avoid making lies" she said.
Meanwhile, Dr Yasmin Rashid delivered her key address at International Medical Education Conference under Noor International University.
