Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought the assistance of Advocate General (AG) and Prosecutor General (PG) in a case, allowing a married woman in a Muslim Society to live at same place with strangers. According to an order of SHC's division bench headed by Justice Iqbal Kalhoro, court appointed Faisal Siddiqui Advocate its amicus curiae to assist in this matter after it took up the petition of a married woman, who is living with a friend, who was accused by the brother of woman of forcibly keeping her in an FIR.
According to counsel of the petitioner, his client left the house of her parents, who had got her married with a person namely Muhammad Rafiq forcibly but Rukhsati had not taken place.
Meanwhile due to torture of parents, she left the house and started living with her friend, Waqas Khalil in Mahmoodabad area of Karachi. The brother of married women, Shahroz Khan registered an FIR on the false allegations that she has been taken away by Waqas Khalil, counsel of petitioner argued.
Court directed Advocate General and Prosecutor General to come prepared on the next hearing of the case, scheduled for October 12, 2018 to assist the court. Court allowed the investigating officer to continue with the investigations but restrained him to arrest the accused nominated in FIR.
